During the project Agri-Gaia an open AI ecosystem for the agricultural and food industry was developed, based on GAIA-X, the European sovereign data infrastructure. Within GAIA-X, Agri-Gaia represents the first agricultural use-case scenario, built on a strong consortium whose initiative led to the establishment of the agriculture domain.

The most important development thorughout this project was the Agri-Gaia Platform, which acted as a tool to implement the usecases and connect different stakeholders in the consortium.

The Agri-Gaia platform forms the foundation of the ecosystem, connecting its various stakeholders and did enable the implementation of use cases. Within the ecosystem and together with external partners, data and models can be exchanged in a GAIA-X-compliant manner. To ensure seamless communication, a shared vocabulary was developed within Agri-Gaia and made available through the platform. In addition, the platform allows the integration of external services, such as providers of weather data or application maps, whose results can be directly utilized within the ecosystem.
